In Case You Didn’t Already Know, Kanye West Is Not A Christian.

by @ 12:15 pm. Filed under Nuts on Parade

A Christian is one that has come to the understanding, that Jesus is the Only Way to the Father, the ONLY hope one has for salvation.

Acts 4:12 (New American Standard Bible)

12 “And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved.”

and

John 14:6 (New American Standard Bible)

6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.

I usually don’t spend time making posts exposing trash rappers. I mean any real Christian in time can see the rotten fruit coming from their mouths. And eventually realize these entertainers are doing just like politicians and claiming “Jesus” for the sake of pleasing men. Not out of any true belief that Jesus is the ONLY means of salvation. (I typically try and point out cases that are a little less obvious.)

But as my brother Speaking Truth has noted, there’s a reason I must mention trash rapper Kanye West here.

“I believe in Jesus as an icon…”

Remember when almost every urban youth pastor in America embraced Kanye West’s song “Jesus Walks” as a method for evangelizing to the youth? They argued that Kanye would bring kids into the church by making Jesus “relevant” to their everyday circumstances. Well the kids came, but they wanted to be entertained – just like their parents. Oh, and the Gospel message never resonated with them either.

For months now, I’ve been railing against the dangers of “relevant” and “seeker sensitive” church movements because they focus more on the packaging of the Gospel message than the Gospel itself.

As the rest of Speaking Truth’s post details, Kanye does not know the Lord Jesus Christ in truth. And the fact many of us in the church may have tried to embrace his work for a time while we KNEW the very SAME CD with the theologically askew yet ear tickling track “Jesus Walks” also contained much other more blatant filth. It makes me think of how easily we Christians sometimes mistakenly allow the wrong people into the love feast. As God had Jude to note:

Jude 1:4, 12-13

4 For certain persons have crept in unnoticed, those who were long beforehand marked out for this condemnation, ungodly persons who turn the grace of our God into licentiousness and deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.

12 These are the men who are hidden reefs in your love feasts when they feast with you without fear, caring for themselves; clouds without water, carried along by winds; autumn trees without fruit, doubly dead, uprooted;

13 wild waves of the sea, casting up their own shame like foam; wandering stars, for whom the black darkness has been reserved forever.

So, although it is a bit trashy, read the interview Kanye West did with an entertainment web site recently. Specifically the parts where he is asked “We recently saw your quote “I don’t believe in religion, and I don’t believe in giving it all up to Jesus.” Does this mean that you’re no longer a Christian? “ And “So do you believe in Jesus at all? “ Keeping in mind Jesus is the ONLY means for salvation and those who deny it are devoid of the truth.

This should be a lesson of hindsight for the church. And to know that it is time to STOP making the same mistake. Those who don’t really stand on the truth should not be leveraged by the church in efforts to play marketing gimmicks like the world. The church should NOT be about ear tickling marketing gimmicks AT ALL. Stop chasing the ear tickling tunes, stop trying to take on the methods and ways of the world. Stand on The Rock of offense alone (Romans 9:33) and leave those who dislike it for God to judge.

Hey IC, long time no write…lol but why do we fall for things like this? I never understood that whole craze over him in the first place. Yes it was a catchy beat and all but if the words don’t express Christ is Lord then why would a church want to promote that? I like how you said “The church should NOT be about ear tickling marketing gimmicks AT ALL.” That is the truth if I have never heard it before. We waste more time, I think, trying to entertain and please those who really aren’t fully for Christ when we should be concerned only with souls and preaching sound doctrine that they might be saved.

Sadly, IC, we are seeing more and more false Christians being exposed for what they are – tares that have grown along side the wheat (almost emulating them) until harvest time comes.

From our new President King to the person sitting next to us in the pews, the goats are beginning to distinguish themselves from the sheep.

Seems Mr. West is rather soft on men who beat women.

Chris Brown ‘sorry and saddened’ over alleged Rihanna assault

Despite the serious allegations, some of Chris Brown’s peers have spoken out in his support. “Can’t we give [him] a break?” asked Kanye West on Friday, at a recording of VH1’s Storytellers.

Accused of beating a woman to unconsciousness and West is talking about giving Chris Brown “a break” 🙄 … (Considering the accusations mention Brown was threating to kill his girlfriend, if the accusations are true, he might have left her for dead, thinking he had finished her off.)

And who is the pastor that is speaking with Chris Brown?

Truthfully, Mr. West is rather soft. Period. And many so-called Christians are keeping their mouths shut about the Chrianna (Chris & Rhianna…sorry) affair because they still have to make money in that industry.

And who is the pastor that is speaking with Chris Brown?

I was thinking the very same thing when I read that as well. Hopefully it’s a sound teacher who is trying to talk sense into this dumb kid’s thick skull instead of a pimp looking for some publicity and a new “spiritual son”.

We know he’d be given the T.I. treatment if he lived here in the ATL – Eddie just loves the celebrities…

  6. IndependentConservative Says:

I don’t know who Chris Brown is speaking to, but I doubt T.I. would be running with Eddie Long if Fast Eddie was anything but the false teacher that he is.
